Description

This is my third test of a new Canon EF focus controller - this time with a wide angle Sigma 15mm f/2.8. The resulting field is about 50 degrees wide - and big enough to capture the Gum Nebula in a single frame.

This is with a Custom scientific 10nm filter - which appears to work ok despite the lens being wide field and wide open.

The lens was attached via the focus controller and ZWO mini filter wheel - and manually focused remotely via USB. The field is somewhat uneven at the edges and I expect it to improve with automatic focusing.

The image has been cropped and some gradient removal. Other than that just levels applied and no other processing.

40x1m exposures, unguided.
