Description

⁣The Dolphin Head Nebula (Sh 2-308) is probably the most challenging target I’ve ever imaged over the past two years, particularly at this time of year when it’s already past the meridian at the start of each session. I spent 6 nights in total, acquiring a total of 10 hours of data (5 hours of Ha and 5 hours of OIII). It’s faint, really really faint!!! Most of the signal is in OIII and even there, it’s difficult to see it in the individual subframes. I’ll definitely have another go next year, starting much earlier in the year. Hope you enjoy the image. ⁣
