Description

Black patches of the Milky Way separate Cassiopiea and Cepheus, the mythological Queen and King of Aethiopia. Nearer to us, over dark clouds are some colorful nebulas such as Sh2-155 (Cave Nebula), Sh2-154 and Sh2-135. There is a prominent, extremely big but not-so-dark nebula, LDN1238, left of the center. Between those dark clouds, standing out are Sh2-157 and Sh2-162 (Bubble Nebula, though the Bubble itselft is not resolved at this image scale). The lower right also hosts the Sh2-142, Sh2-135, Sh2-132 and LBN431 nebulas and the relatively bright, naked-eye star ζ Cep. Overlapping LDN1180 there is a faint nebula that doesn't seem to be listed in Sh2 and LBN catalogs.
