Description

Well this time I present to you M95 and M96 of the constellation of Leo.
M95 is a barred spiral galaxy. It is located 32.6 million light years from Earth. It has a visual magnitude of 11.4 and is complex to observe. With medium 6 "and 8" telescopes a small diffuse oval light (a cloud) can be observed. Viewing the bar structures becomes more complex and requires larger openings and very dark skies. Accompanied by M95 we have M96, an intermediate spiral galaxy that is 31 million light years away, it is also complex to observe with small telescopes, on the other hand with good skies we can see structures through its arms.
M96's core is displaced from its center, its gas and dust are asymmetrically distributed, and its spiral arms are poorly defined. Hence its characteristic shape.
M96 is the largest galaxy in the LEO 1 galaxy group, which includes M95, M105, and at least nine other galaxies.
To obtain the image I have accumulated:
63 Luminance shots of 10 minutes each at BIN 1 Astrodon L Gen 2 31mm filter
45 RGB shots on each channel of 5 minutes to BIN 2 Astrodon RGB Gen 2 31mm filters.
14.25 hours of exposure in total.
Made from Áger with the usual team. Captured between March and April 2021.
Processed with Pixinsight and Photoshop CC 2021
