Description

Mars before dawn on Sat 29 Aug 2020 AEST.

Finally had some time to derotate all F35 data from a fortnight ago. The image is a composite of 11 four minute intervals taken between 3:09 and 3:53 am local time. Compared with my past upload for that morning this is a much more softer treatment which better reflects natural beauty of the Red Planet as seen through the eyepiece.

The view is centered on Amazonis, Olympus Mons and Tharsis Ridge with Ascraeus Mons volcano casting evening shadow to its east. A semi circular orographic cloud can be detected east of Arsia Mons. The peaks appear pinkish in colour compared to the surrounding plain. In the south albedo features of Mare Sirenum, Memnonia, Aonius Sinus and Solis Lacus stretch from P to F limb.
