Description

I've been wanting to image the Milky Way from my sister in law's driveway. I anticipated getting a foreground with pasture, a fenceline, and trees along the fenceline in my image. However I anticipated incorrectly. I set up my gear before dark because I knew I would be racing the Moon and I hoped to get some images in before the Moon rose. As it turned out the Milky Way was not over the pasture. Instead it was over my sister in law's house. So I decided to image it over her house. She has decorative lighting on the Bradford pear tress that line the front of her house and she has decorative lighting in different places on her house. After taking a test image the house and trees looked like they were taken in daylight instead of at night. I wound up taking 20 second exposures for the Milky Way and then taking 1 second exposures for the foreground. I layered and blended the foreground images with the Milky Way images. This may be my last Milky Way image for this season because it is getting lower in the sky with each day that passes. And it doesn't look like the Moon is ever going to leave.
