This supernova remnant is also known as SNR G180.0-01.7 or The Spaghetti Nebula. The supernova that spawned this web occurred about 40,000 years ago, and over that time these ionized shockwaves have spread to span over 150 lightyears.

The small bright patch in the upper right is an unrelated emission nebula designated Sh2-242, which lies almost 9,000 light years away. This makes it about three times farther from Earth than the Spaghetti Nebula.
