Description

This object is a tiny, faint planetary nebula located 8600 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus at a declination of +49 degrees. This magnitude 13 nebula spans 0.8 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 2 light years.

A lot of things are going on here. The nebula looks multi-polar to me. Both of the primary bi-polar lobes appear to be burst out. We appear to be looking at it from an angled view, neither side-view or end-on, such that the bright white torus section appears as an oval to us. The Ha signal is strongest but the OIII is also strong in the torus region. I do not see a central star. The nebula appears to be undergoing strong ISM influence based on the distortion of the nebula.
