Description

After 12 days on the road to and from the Okie Tex Star Party, I have a new image to show which is apropos for Halloween. It's  called the Ghost Nebula or Sharpless 2-136 in the constellation Cepheus. This was imaged from home under Bortle 5 suburban skies during Aug and September 2021. Its comprised of 14.8hrs of exposure time. The Ghost Nebula resides in an area of the sky that is full of faint molecular dust. Within this object is a cone shaped orange Herbig-Haro object called HH-157 which indicates new stars are being born within the dense dust. The image is a crop of a slightly larger field of view.  Image resolution is 1.28"/pixel.
