Description

Hickson 44 is also known as Arp 316 residing in the constellation Leo at a distance of roughly 80 million ly. The group contains four main members: NGC 3185,3187,3190, and 3193.

I started collecting data for this toward the end of the March New Moon period. Most the color data was collected after Full Moon and each clear night I would gain a slightly larger window of moonless skies to get a bit more. With this project made an attempt to take flats each night and try to maintain some sort of coding on each nights files to know what went with what. That really turned into a house of madness. I have everything in a NexDome observatory so in theory my flats should be good for long periods of time. But I have found some issues recently.

Processing of this was once again totally in PI and my skills with masks are improving. Hoping to make these major projects with 20+ hours of data really sing, especially from a 20.4-20.7 mag skies. Just need to keep chipping away at the processing skill set.
