Description

The Cocoon Nebula (IC 5146, Sh 2-125, Caldwell 19) is a star forming region some 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus. It contains both reflection and emission nebulae.

The Cocoon was photographed between 21 August and 20 September 2019 from a remote imaging rig that is jointly owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Ha: 27 x 1200s

Lum: Ha: 36 x 600s

Red: 28 x 300s

Green: 28 x 300s

Blue: 27 x 300s

A total of 21 hours and 55 minutes exposure.
