Description

47 Tucanae is a globular cluster found in the Southern constellation of Tucana.
At about 15000 light years from Earth, with a minimum of 500000 stars, this globular cluster is approximately 120 light years in diameter.
NGC 104 shines with an apparent magnitude of 4.5 and is only second in brightness to Omega Centauri in the night sky.
It is thought that the dense core of this globular cluster contains a mid-sized black hole.
