Description

When somebody in astrophotography tells you something is dim.... You should believe them... Because this monster is FREAKIN DIM! The first night I set my telescope on this target I captured 3.3 hours of OIII and 3.8 Hours of Ha. The following morning I did a quick stack and stretch just to see how things were looking. This was barely anything... HA was "okay" but there was basically no signal in OIII. I was blown away... Darkest skies a man could ask for, F4.8 telescope, super sensitive 294M-Pro, and still.... almost nothing... I couldn't believe it! So I rolled up my sleeves and prepared for night 2. Both Ha and OIII were now set to take 600s exposures of this incredibly dim target. 600s subs were exactly what I needed. Fast forward to my return home, I calibrated and stacked the data I had to find that even after all of that integration, it still was incredibly dim. However definitely something I could work with. I say all of this to basically say, I respect all of you who have captured this target. It's hard. Processing and data collection both. If you think you're up to it, I challenge each of you to go after this one. Ensure that you are either at a dark location or else be prepared to put 40+ hours into this beast.
