Description

I captured this image of Saturn on the morning of July 24th, when the planet was approximately 33 degrees above the horizon. This is a composite image using two different exposures for Saturn and its moons (later combining them in Photoshop). Here I used a OSC camera (QHY 5iii 178C) in conjunction with my C8. Because of the small pixel size (2.4 microns) for this camera, on this occasion I decided against using a Barlow lens since I was near critical sampling at f10. Seeing conditions, if not perfect, were reasonably good for this session. In longer exposures, it was possible to see moons Dione and Rhea.
