Description

The Cocoon Nebula (IC 5146, Sh 2-125, Caldwell 19) is a star forming region some 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus.  It contains both reflection and emission nebulae.   

This is a two panel mosaic photographed between 29 July and 29 August 2021.  Capture details are as follows:

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ 106
Camera: QSI 683
Filters: Astrodon
Mount: 10 Micron GM1000HPS

Ha: 53 x 1200s
Lum: 70 x 600s
Red: 27 x 600s
Green: 39 x 600s
Blue: 47 x 600s

A total of 48 hours and 10 minutes exposure.
