Description

First Light on a New Scope:

There were at number of considerations at getting a C11 Edge, most importantly Gary Imm could tell me exactly what to do, but I was very interested to see what combining the 2800mm FL would do with binning the huge sensor of the ZWO ASI 6200M 4x4. I am happy with the result.... after two months of tweaks.

Basically 2x2 binning of a CMOS sensor doubles the SNR ratio (A CCD quadruples it).  However, using sum of squares math I believe you get a quadrupling of the SNR when you bin 4x4. 

In any case, I think the image looks pretty crisp for first light.

Other Images getting up to speed on the system:

First Image (G):

Test after new Focus V curve and re-calibration of guiding. 

Binned 4x for large sensor.

No Flats or Bias yet.

Ran uncooled at about 0 C.  Hence a lot of hot pixels.

Second Image (H):

14x450s H-alpha with Bias and Flats.  cooled to -5C now.

Third Image (I):

BlurXterminator applied to H.

Fourth & Fifth Images (I&J):

GHS and the HDRMT applied

Final image is N with 22 subs.
