Description

This object is a reflection nebula located 6500 light years away in the constellation of Taurus. Most reflection nebula are blue. This one is a beautiful shade of orange, surrounding the magnitude 7.5 orange supergiant star HD 37387.

This object does not get much publicity. Some sources also identify this object as Sh2-243, but others dispute this identification. The background star field contains plenty of blue and orange stars amongst scattered dust.
