Description

3 hours of narrowband data for NGC 2264. The Christmas Tree Cluster is an asterism of stars in Monoceros that etch out the shape of a Christmas Tree (with top of the tree at lower left and trunk at upper right). Their combined light is illuminating and causing light emission from surrounding interstellar gas. More poorly resolved and needing much more exposure time is the Cone Nebula (lower left) and the Fox Fur Nebula which is the area of wrinkled nebulosity that lies just below and right of the brightest star (15 Monocerotis).

Need to triple my exposure time on this target, and try some different processing techniques to try and tease out the structure better.
