Description

To paraphrase Wikipedia, this cluster is located about 1,600 ly distant and contains approximately 500 stars. The population is generally dominated by hot and young B giant main sequence stars. There are some red giants and dwarfs among those which adds a lot to the visual experience when observing this cluster.

A have as of late, been doing a lot of open clusters. I find them to be both interesting and beautiful. Plus these seem to come out OK when the moon is up.

We had some clear skies but the seeing was marginal. This image could probably have done with a little more integration but it is near the end of its season. I might try to get another session in on this before it's gone from our evening skies.
