Description

This gorgeous flocculent spiral galaxy has many arms discontinuously winding their way around its bright yellow core. The arms resemble the tightly wound spiral of pappi in a sunflower head, but instead radiating a gentle blue from all the newly birthed blue stars.

The galaxy is located roughly 27 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici, and is one of my favorites in Spring.
