Description

I thought I would quickly try and image the moon last night. I have not imaged the moon for ages, [because I do not have the right gear for it] and never with my x2 ED Barlow lens. I used my 8" f4 reflector and my Nikon D800, at ISO 500 and 1/500 speed, and took it in a .jpeg format. I am pleased to say that a side by side comparison with an image without the Barlow, shows little depreciation, so that is good. I needed to make some colour correction, but that was all. I think I might try a few moon images in future now, which will hopefully look better once the full moon phase is over, and the lunar contrast returns. I will also image it in RAW - last night I took it in .jpeg directly off the camera.
