I previously posted the left hand image. The seeing improved by the time I did a second run 40 minutes later. This was beneficial both in terms of the quality of the planet image but also the resolution of features on Ganymede. My recently published detailed image of Ganymede is therefore the one pertaining to the right hand image. It is superior to that for the left hand image taken earlier both because the seeing was better, but I also improved the image processing.
Although I was quite happy with the first image, it is interesting to see a side by side comparison with an image obtained a short time later with superior seeing.
