Description

Messier 92

Taken over 2 nights on the 20th and 21st April.

I did this image last year with my old Meade LX90. The difference between this and the new AD250 from 656 Imaging is quite marked. I have far sharper stars, the definition and separation in the core is way better, the small galaxy in the bottom right is better and the overall colour of the stars is much better. With only a few sub frames taken I'm delighted with the image and I'm sure I can improve on it with more data.

M92 is a globular cluster about 27000 light years away in the constellation of Hercules. Discovered by Johann Elert Bode in 1777. It was found again and catalogued by Charles Messier in 1781.
