Description

I decided to completely revise the former version from 2019. You can compare both. Quite a journey between the pictures. The same raw data...Hope you like the new version.
For this new version I used the Foraxx script on the starless pictures with dynamic NB combination for the H and O data. No further mask was used, just histogramm, slight curves enhancement and minimal contrast and detail enhancement under Topaz studio.

The Foraxx script respects quite well scientific meaning of the colours, Ha is red, OIII is bluish and regions where Ha and relatively OIII are present appear orange to yellow. It avoids to get a white spot on these regions. The bluish curved bow shock structure coming from Cygnus X-1 is visible without any "artificial OIII boosting". I invite you to read more about Cygnus X-1 which is a fascinating and still not well understood object:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cygnus_X-1

I think I might use this script in the future for HO data, the colours are quite pleasant without destroying the link to the origin of the respective emission lines.
