Description

On 29 April, 2019, a Polish amateur astronomer Jaroslaw Grzegorzek discovered a 16.5 magnitude supernova in Messier 100, which is 55 million light-years away from us. Unfortunately, the supernova brightness is significantly reduced by the Messier 100 dust clouds.

On May 3, 2019, I made a remote telescope image of the galaxy and its surroundings. Using my green filter images, Róbert Fidrich measured the brightness of the supernova at a magnitude of 16.32 (+/- 0.08).
