Description

A little fun project before I guided the mount to the Milky Way targets early in the morning. I programmed SGP for M13 from 10pm to 2am with the setup that I wanted for the "main" target of the night (keeping the mount busy). Of course I did not waste the chance to take images of M13 during this time, which explains the unusual combination of this image, conventional RGB with a superset of luminance from narrow band filters (Hα and SII, combined as H-HS-S). And I had some fun with it, which version B shows ;-).

Description: One can play around with Star Spikes Pro just for fun, and when this was showing up I liked it. Of course no real astronomical value, just a pretty picture (at least for me ;-)).

C

Description: The version that will be used for the integration of an additional set of 2x Barlow images. Simple, straight, nothing fancy ;-).

D

Description: Integrated approximately 4.5 hours of RGB data taken with the Explore Scientific with a 2x Barlow. PI actually gave up on the star alignment so that I had to do this on my own within PS, which is a darn time intensive task. But I believe the image became better ... well, my eyes are tired, maybe tomorrow morning it looks awful ;-).

Description: Comparison of 1 year. Changes in equipment, better processing. I definitely like the one from this year better, but last years edition was not too bad. I will do this again next year ;-).

F

Description: Added another set of acquired Hα data (last set), bumping the integration time to 23 hours.

G

Description: Sub-selected approximately 10 hours worth of "best" LRGB data and processed from scratch. Chose the best single images due to eccentricity and FWHM.

H

Description: It seems that the star reduction in PI when applying it too aggressively creates some fuzziness around the stars. Here a version without reduction.

Description: Took a subset of the least elongated subs and reprocessed.
