Description

Jewel of The Southern Sky

While sometimes we may think and believe Earth is the most beautiful place to live, it is only a speckle of dust in comparison to the wonders that our machines can show us beyond the horizon. In its enormous totality and grandeur this Nebulae represents the most remarkable detail of what a Star forming region actually looks like. In Essence a supernova factory, Stars of all sizes, types and colour exist here. Every single dot in this photo represents a star just like our own Sun. This nebula is 4 times bigger than the Great Orion Nebulae spanning over 300 light years across and appx 7500 light years away, residing between the Southern cross & the False cross densely packed with billions of stars forming a part of the Carina-Sagittarius galactic arm. No other nebulae or dust cloud can surpass this titanic wave of splendour and grace in our milky way. So much to take in, in just one small area of the sky. No wonder why our Lord’s prayer starts with (Our Father who art in Heaven), the greatest artist of all.

Taken over 3 nights with over 179 exposures totalling 6 hours of data, thru my Wide field refractor telescope.
