Description

Here is a very nice Southern Hemisphere reflection nebula, NGC 5367. It’s part of the cometary globule CG12. To the best of my knowledge, NGC 5367 does not have a common name.

This is an RGB image, with no separate luminance. Years ago Juan Conejero, of PixInsight, convinced me that separate luminance images are often not the best solution. I’ve been doing straight RGB ever since.

The fast Newtonians at Chilescope are a joy. F3.6 is spoiling me.

Tech Notes:
ASA Newtonian, 500 mm aperture, 1900mm focal length, F3.6
FLI Proline 16803, 9 mm pixel, 4096 X 4096
ASA DDM85 equatorial mount
Processing with PixInsight, Topaz Denoise AI, and Affinity Photo
