Description

Complete rework of that image.

M 57 the famous ring nebula in Lyra is and was always one of my most famous targets for astrofotography. Even in recent times, when I was using film material I was trying to get as much detail as possible from it. Last summer in the wonderful night of the perseid shower, I was in the dome to get it with my new ASI 1600 mm pro, while the others were watching the meteors outside. The 24 inch Cassegrain was used at f10 in secondary focus.

The exposures were as following:

Luminence 75x10 sec gain 350 bin1

Luminence 25x20 sec gain 350 bin1

H alpha 12nm 35x45 sec gain 350 bin1

Red 50x30 sec gain 350 bin2

Green 50x30 sec gain 350 bin2

Blue 50x30 sec gain 350 bin2

No guiding was used! So maximum exposure time was 45 sec, before stars begin to deform.

Because of constantely bad weather here in Germany I decided to make a complete new version of it. The pic is cropped.....

Hope you like it....CS,Christoph
