Description

Probably the most popular interacting galactic pair, NGC4038 and NGC4039 (the Antennae Galaxies) are 45 million light years from Earth. 1.2 billion years ago they were separate galaxies; upon colliding they began releasing stars and other matter which forms the "antenna" trails which are barely visible in this image. These galaxies have proven to be difficult for me to post-process and I've decided that I'll try again when the moon isn't out and when the epic storms in Houston have subsided.
