This is a very dense star-field on the edge of the Lagoon Nebula. The source of these data are the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes Portal. The interesting part of this is that it is false color. That is, there were several filter sets available, but not the normal RGB ones we use down here on earth. For this image I assigned the filters as follows: 960 nm = Red, 752 nm = Green and 480 nm = Blue. Interestingly, it almost looks like a natural color image.

In this image I added some H-alpha data I had from an earlier Lagoon image. This brought out the red in the emission nebula.
