Description

A 98% waning moon which had risen 2 hours prior to capture.

Equipment used was a Vixen 81s + Atik 314E on a Celestron AVX mount. An IR Cut Filter was used to reduce glare.

SharpCap 3.2 was used to capture 100 FITS frames for each panel. SiriL was used to register & stack the best 50% of frames in each panel. Microsoft Image Composite Editor (ICE) was used to stitch the 2 panels. Final processing was carried out in GIMP, Filters > Enhance > Sharpen (Unsharp Mask) and Contrast with a slight adjustment in Curves.
