Description

The Rising Quarter Moon
I drove the 150 miles (241 km) to another site on the Blue Ridge Parkway (38° 1’ 5.52” N by 78° 52’ 18.84” W – The Rockfish Valley Overlook) for some shots of the Milky Way (will post process them later) knowing I would get a Moonrise around 1:35 am. I shot a lot of images at different settings but have chosen this stack of four for the final product. I used the Canon T7i DSLR with the Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary Telephoto lens, ISO 100, 0.4 seconds, f/6.3. Shot at 1:50 am on 5/25/2019
The Moon was very low in the sky, thus the orange color. :-)
