Description

First serious planetary image...

I think I had some pretty steady seeing, collimated before I began imaging and spent a lot of time trying to focus properly. I stacked the best 10% of the 10,000 frames.

The monochrome Version B was done with a ASI290. I think that camera might be better for this purpose and I will try to do this again with a filter wheel in place.

Surprising to me that I got a couple of moons in the image.

It's a start and with a f/4 scope and a cheap 3x Barlow I think it is OK.

I am inspired by several extremely fine planetary imagers here that I won't name so as not to put them in a strange postion, but most folks likely know who they are.

Description: I just don't have enough focal length, among other issues... but this was enjoyable and I think it's worth it to me to devote some more time and effort in planetary work.
