Description

The "Tulip Nebula" is an HII region; I shot it with narrowband Ha, SII, and OIII filters from my suburban driveway, and processed it using a technique that tries to synthesize its natural colors from that data.

To get natural-looking star colors, I also took a couple hours' worth of RGB data and blended it in using a star mask. This is my first time using that technique - it was definitely worthwhile for this image.

Pretty happy with the result considering the considerable light pollution where I live. Narrowband data for the win :)
