Description

The Elephant Trunk in 3.5nm Ha. Still a bit noisy because three hours of f/7 data are insufficient, I think. Anyway, just wanted to share out what I have. Seems the skies here in Colorado [Boulder area] are not clearing until after midnight when they do clear. And with the Summer Solstice almost upon us, the birds start chirping and it's too light to image after about 04:00.

I have ordered a second William Optics Flat 7 0.8x reducer/flattener for the dual system. It will enlarge the FOV, but that change is mitigated pretty well by having switched from the ASI 1600 to the ASI 183. And running at f/5.6 will help a bunch. Simultaneous image capture still a work in progress. Just got a PC tower to live in the Dome and hope to soon figure out how to make this happen.
