Description

For this galaxy I tried two different versions of the treatment. The first one is quite agressive, some stars are a bit weird and the background sky is a bit too black. The galaxy seems to be deconnected from the sky. The second one is a softer treatment but with a grainy result. The final version is a mixup of the two versions, for me it is the the most balanced one. Make your choice !

This spiral galaxy which is known as the neighbor of the PN 97 "Owl" nebula is quite small and fairly brilliant. A lot of small galaxies around. The picture is highly oversampled as my focal length is too high for the pixel size of the camera. It results in 0.61"/px.

G 12*240s, R 8*270s, B 7*240s, 1h52 min total exposure. No L filter. L layer was synthesized with the RGB layers.
