Description

Observed and imaged Europa's transit of Jupiter on the night of June 14/15, 2019. This image was taken near the end of the transit with Europa at the edge of Jupiter's disk while it's shadow was still fully on the planet. As a bonus, the great red spot was just coming into view on the opposite limb of Jupiter. Conditions were average at best with a few moments of decent seeing (always a good sign when the moons can be clearly seen to aid focusing) but intermittent high clouds that messed with capture times throughout the session.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, custom Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. This imaging train gives me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture. Stacking in AutoStakkert3. Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. This images is a stack of the best 25% of ~25,000 frames captured over 180 seconds at 150 FPS.
