Everything was setup, the weather finally turned around for a couple of clear skies, and on top of it on the weekend. What could be better? After 4 weeks of not gathering photons from the sky I was ready, tackling a project that was for some time on my mind, and Sigga gave me the last kick with her wonderful wide field image. Hence I targeted a 4 panel shot of the Veil. What could go wrong, with SGP you can set it up, well ... if you consider the angle of course. I was almost exactly 90 degrees off, hell, that is good, well ... yes, if the sensor would be square!! Hence I got my 4 panels in all 3 narrow band filters together, just to find out that there is a gap between the eastern and the western part 😣. I will have to wait for another nice weekend night to get the gap filled. In the meantime panel 1, the western Veil and Pickering's triangle. Next step is to attach panel 2 (there was no gap at least), that will be already an "adventure" since I found out that it is not easy to get 2 panels with slightly different quality into one image.

Ok, one can tell that I do not have that much experience handling mosaics. I will probably start from scratch again to try eliminating the differences between the 2 panels, but I worked already so much on it that I do need a break. One thing for sure, if that all works out better it will be overall a nice image 😊.
