Description

Messier 6 or the Buttefly Cluster... I find these open clusters to be very beautiful and excellent for working to improve processing skills. I think one can quite clearly see the butterfly pattern.

This cluster lies about 1,600 ly away in Scorpius. It is quite young at about 100mm years and is made up of mostly hot spectral class B stars. The orange spectral class K star though, being the brightest.

The foregoing information was obtained from messier-objects.com.

This cluster does appear quite low in the sky at my latitude (32-59N) but I still wanted to image it.

Anyway, any comments and/ or criticism always welcome and clear skies to all!

Mike
