Description

Observed and imaged Jupiter on the night of June 22/23, 2019. I started at F/10 and seeing didn't seem too bad, so I added in the barlow to take things up to F/20. Turns out the seeing wasn't so great after all (lesson learned on the usefulness of F/10 imaging in the typical lousy seeing conditions this year). Still grabbed a series of captures using UV-IR cut and IR 685 nm pass filters.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, custom Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut/Baader IR 685 nm Pass filters, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 300 and exposures ranging from 7.5 ms (UV-IR cut) to 17.5 ms (IR 685 nm Pass). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of ~25,000 frames captured over 180 seconds.). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. Derotated images in WinJUPOS. Composite image generated using GIMP.
