Description

It is located approximately 5,610 light years from Earth.
The cluster is made up of young blue stars which were born from the Eagle nebula and which ionize the gas from this same nebula.
The central region of the nebula shows beautiful columnar architecture, called “Pillars of Creation”. In these gas pillars of the order of three light years long, the stars of the cluster are born, hence their name.
