Description

NGC 5907 is a spiral galaxy around 40 million light years distant in the constellation of Draco. It was first observed by William Herschel in 1788. NGC 5907 is often referred to as the 'Knife Edge' or 'Splinter' Galaxy.

NGC 5907 was photographed between 3 and 29 June 2019 from an imaging rig in Spain that is privately-owned and remotely-operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Camera: QSI 690

Filters: Astrodon

Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

Lum: 36 x 600s

Red: 30 x 300s

Green: 30 x 300s

Blue: 30 x 300s

A total of 13 hours and 30 minutes exposure.
