M16 - The Eagle Nebula and "Pillars of Creation"

At 7000 lightyears from us, the Eagle nebula is a concentration of gas and dust surrounding several star-forming regions.

The size of the nebula itself is 70x55 lightyears across.

The famous "Pillars of Creation" (perhaps the most iconic image produced by the Hubble Space Telescope) are located at the center of the nebula. Each of the pillars is around 4 lightyears long.
