Description

The Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6496) is a spiral galaxy around 10 million light years away in the constellation of Cepheus. It is around 40,000 light years in diameter.

NGC 6946 was photographed between 9 June and 6 July 2019 from an imaging rig in Spain that is privately-owned and remotely-operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Camera: QSI 690

Filters: Astrodon

Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

Ha: 18 x 1200s

Lum: 44 x 600s

Red: 36 x 370s

Green: 36 x 400s

Blue: 36 x 300s

A total of 24 hours and 02 minutes exposure.
