Description

A detailed view of the Cygnus wall in NGC 7000 and LDN 935, which separates the North America and Pelican Nebulae. The ionization front in this image is very bright and each narrowband filter shows obvious differences in the structure. Dust in the the dark nebula is surprisingly detailed as well, with fine dark filaments that extend and swirl through the frame. Surprisingly, a small reflection nebula also shows up in the SII data (red patch on the left edge of LDN 935, near the middle of the frame).

Original = ‘Natural’ colors with H-alpha in red and OIII in teal/blue (HOO combination).

This data was completely acquired using my new EQ6-R mount. Compared to my previous EQ5, it significantly improved the sharpness and consistency of my narrowband frames. All masters were 2X drizzle stacked and treated with deconvolution, no additional sharpening was applied. Starless tonemaps were created using the StarNet++ plugin for PixInsight (developed by Nikita Misiura)
