Description

This was my first astrophoto after a years hiatus. The Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant created from an exploding star roughly 20 times the mass of the sun. The star exploded approximately 8000 years ago leaving behind these beautiful wispy streaks in the sky. The remnants of the explosion have since expanded to cover an area of the sky roughly 3 degrees in diameter, which is roughly the same size that Andromeda Galaxy appears as in the night sky. Full processing details are available at the link above.
