Description

I took the opportunity to take some limited nightscape/time-lapse imagery of the Milky Way during a stay at the home of Jack and Alice Newton (Observatory B&B) in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.

Images were taken with a Nikon D750 camera using a Rokinon 14mm f/2.4 lens on a fixed tripod as part of a night-long time-lapse session. Foreground: 9 x 15 seconds, plus Sky: 21 x 15 seconds (untracked).

Processing was quite a challenge, with all the usual suspects making things difficult – clouds, truck lights, lights reflecting on low clouds etc. However, I consider myself fortunate to get a glimpse of the Milky Way in between the clouds later in the morning.

Subframes were selected from the time-lapse sequence to avoid the clouds and brighter lights where possible, and processed using both Sequator and PixInsight.
