Delta Cygni - Al Fawaris - STF2579

Description

Delta Cygni also known as Al Fawaris is a nice high contrast double in one of the wings of the Swan - Cygnus. It's in fact a triple star but the two imaged here shine at 2.9 and 6.3 magnitudes respectively. Separated by 2.8" at position angle 215.5 see:

https://www.stelledoppie.it/index2.php?menu=29&iddoppia=83229

The spectral class is B9.5IV (blue-white) but depending on the transparency the secondary could be seen as grey/green with the primary much whiter than blue. It shows quite blue in this image though.

Imaged with a ZWO ASI294MC at 244fps. 500 frames used out of 10,000. Good seeing for UK standards. Using 10" f/20 Maksutov-Cassegrain.

Frames captured=10000

File type=SER

DebayerAlgorithm=HQLinear

BayerPattern=RG

FPS (avg.)=244

Shutter=1.215ms

Gain=300 (50%)

Gamma=50

Processed each component separately in PixInsight as the linear image just would not reveal the secondary without blowing out the primary. The image above is more akin to what the human eye can see at the eyepiece. Image is also resampled 1.5x.
