Description

Reprocessed from March 2018 (Original) to reveal galaxy dust and improve star colours. I can remember being so happy with my original 2018 version …. but how our skills and expectations change during this wonderful hobby of ours!

Such a strange looking galaxy from our vantage point, the 5th brightest in our skies, and an extremely strong source of radio waves! Believed to be an elliptical galaxy disrupted by a recent collision with a smaller spiral galaxy. The black hole in the active nucleus is so dense it contains the mass of about 55 million suns, compacted into a small region of space not much larger than our solar system.
